Universal Studios Florida

Universal is fun to explore all year round (especially during the school year when it is less crowded ) , but is exceptionally fun for those who love and seek the  emotion of fear during Halloween Horror Nights! My family has attended both and we have worked out the kinks to getting through the long lines during both seasons. This years HHN is featuring a new haunted house, based off the movie, A Quiet Place.  For the fans of this movie...try not to make a noise as you go through, you know what happens if you are too loud!

Halloween Horror Nights is on select nights Aug. 30th- Nov. 3rd and is rated for 12 and up.

Some people bring their children that are used to gore and horror despite the age recommendation. Know your child I am going into some pro tips here.

1) HHN tickets are sold separately from your general admission unless otherwise stated in your vacation package! It is an added cost for this amazing experience.

2) In the long run, it is so much better to book a Universal Hotel, and let me plan your airport transfers. Here's why:

  • Parking starts at $35/day and it took my family a total of 40 min. just to get into the parking garage off the highway during HHN.
  • Any stay on Universal property gives you free transportation to the parks. Depending on where you stay, it will be either a Bus or water taxi.
  • There's no need for a rental car and paying FL tolls to stay on property (even if you want to include a Disney World visit too! Ask me how for a split vacation) because Universal Citywalk has restaurants and entertainment for all your other needs! My family walked to a Walgreens near by for some sunscreen, Gatorade, snacks, etc.
  • You also receive early admission into the parks when you stay on Universal property!!!

3) Do not go during the first week and certainly not on opening day! It is overly crowded, you will only get through about 3 of the 10 haunted houses , and the scare zones are...overly crowded. You will not be scared because you can see where they are hiding.  Also, they take their time in getting the themed food out and opened up. Some of it is very good, so I recommend you check it out.

4) Buy your tickets/book vacation early. That way you get to stay where you want and tickets do sell out.

5) Wear comfy shoes (I hate the look of Crocs, but man, these work so well for ALL parks in FL especially because of rain- nothing worse than soggy shoes to give ya blisters!) and be in the park well before they start letting the HHN people in for the night. They start closing off the daytime attractions around 3pm, and if you are planning to take the Hogwarts Express (the train) to Adventure Island, get in line before 2:30 pm or you will lose access to it.

There are so many more money saving tips I can give you along with much more information. If you have read this far, I am assuming you might be wanting to go to Universal Studios, so please, Click the button that says "Book Free Consultation" and let me help you prepare for the amazing adventure! Check back next week for more Theme Park news!
